Terms of Use – Symptana
Scope of service
Symptana is a personal documentation tool for self-reported pain entries. The app stores your entries locally, presents them clearly, and can generate a report and a data export on request. The app is explicitly not a medical device — see the medical disclaimer for details.
Personal use
The app is intended for your own personal, non-commercial use. No account or registration is required.
No medical advice
The app does not replace medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Do not make medical decisions based solely on information shown in the app.
Optional intelligent features
Individual features of the iOS version may optionally use Apple's language models (locally on your device, or — after separate consent — via Apple Private Cloud Compute). These features only summarize or rephrase your own entries; they do not generate new medical content and do not produce diagnoses. Review any content suggested by the app before adopting or reusing it.
Responsibility for entries and shares
You are responsible for the accuracy of your own entries. If you actively send exports, reports, or screenshots via your operating system's share function (iOS or Android), you are responsible for that sending and for the recipients.
Paid features
Symptana is free to use: you can track up to two locations permanently at no cost. "Symptana Pro" unlocks unlimited locations, multiple profiles, the PDF appointment report, and Apple Health (iOS) or the Health Connect integration (Android). Symptana Pro is available as a subscription (€2.99 per month or €19.99 per year) or as a one-time "Lifetime" purchase (€39.99); in other countries the prices shown in the App Store or Google Play apply. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account (iOS) or Google account (Android, Google Play). Entries you have already recorded are neither deleted nor hidden if a subscription ends; JSON and CSV export stay free. The subscriptions (monthly/yearly) renew automatically for the same period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage and cancel subscriptions at any time in iOS Settings under your name → "Subscriptions" or in the Play Store under "Payments & subscriptions" → "Subscriptions"; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period. The "Lifetime" purchase is one-time and does not renew. Refunds are governed by the terms of Apple or Google.
Liability
The publisher is liable without limitation under statutory provisions for intent and gross negligence, as well as for injury to life, body, or health. Otherwise, liability is limited, to the extent legally permissible, to typical, foreseeable damages arising from a slightly negligent breach of a material contractual obligation.
