Ranker Control
Control your exercise bike or rower – intervals, heart rate from your watch, workouts in Apple Health.
Ranker Control connects over Bluetooth to fitness equipment that speaks the open FTMS standard and takes over control: resistance and target power follow your interval plan instead of you fiddling with the console. Your Apple Watch supplies live heart rate and saves the workout to Apple Health.
What the app does
Intervals the machine switches itself
Six workouts with their own duration and target power per step – the app sets the resistance at the right moment.
Heart rate from your Apple Watch
The watch starts a real indoor cycling workout, shows your heart rate on your wrist, and sends it live to your iPhone.
Saved to Apple Health
Every session lands in Health as a complete workout – with duration, heart rate, and energy.
Routes instead of numbers
A generated coastal road in Mallorca or a rowing lake: the scenery follows your measured speed, and gradients set the matching resistance.
Several machines
Exercise bikes, rowers, treadmills, walking pads, and cross trainers can be added; the app recognises the common FTMS data channels.
Built-in diagnostics
One view shows every Bluetooth service the machine offers. If control doesn't work, you can share the report directly.
Privacy
- Workout data stays on your devices and in Health.
- No account, no server, no analytics.
- The connection to your machine runs directly over Bluetooth.
Price
Free, with no ads and no in-app purchases.
Please note
Ranker Control is an independent app and is not affiliated with the manufacturers of any equipment. Control uses the open FTMS standard; development and testing so far used a Hop-Sport HS-5000L. The built-in diagnostics show whether your machine supports control. The app is not a medical device – workout data are not medical measurements.
FAQ
Will the app work with my machine?
If it supports Bluetooth and the FTMS standard, chances are good. Diagnostics show which services your machine offers and whether control responds.
Do I need an Apple Watch?
No. Without a watch you lose live heart rate and the watch saving to Health; control and intervals still work.
Are my workouts uploaded anywhere?
No. There is no server and no account. Only you decide through Apple Health who else sees your data.
